Interested in a rehearsal of a Singing for your Life choir in the Netherlands?

In the framework of the EU SWAN project ( Singing With Additional Needs) Kanker in Beeld offers conductors in the Netherlands and other European countries the possibility of attending a rehearsal of one of the Singing for your Life choirs.

Attending a rehearsal and afterwards a discussion with the Dutch conductor and singers will give you insight in the conditions and specialities of a choir for people afflicted with cancer. Dutch conductors have already taken part in this programme and they are very enthusiastic: they learned new ways of voice expression and other repertoire for their rehearsals

The rehearsals will take place in Almere, Amersfoort, Leiden, Den Bosch en Nijmegen. Cities in the middle of the Netherlands and easy to reach by public transport. In order to stimulate this conductors exchange a travel compensation is available.

The conductors Heleen, Harry, Wieke, Annet en Anadya and their singers are enthusiastic to meet you. We have extended this programme till the end of 2025.

We want to make our conductors’ exchanges as accessible as possible. While seeing a conductor lead their rehearsal in person has many benefits, we understand that travelling can be complicated for many people, perhaps due to disability, caring responsibilities or other reasons. We therefore offer the possibility to have an online conductors exchange with one of our Singing For Your Life conductors, a 1-on-1 conversation to learn about leading a choir for people confronted with cancer and opportunity to ask any questions directly.
